Guidelines for Artwork

Here are simple guidelines to follow when preparing an art to be printed on  DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfer film:
  • File Format - Preferred Format: Use PNG format to maintain high quality and preserve transparency.
  • Resolution - High Resolution: Ensure your image is at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the final print size. This ensures the print is sharp and detailed.
  • Colors - You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the colors in your uploads, as we do not verify or adjust them.  All are DTF transfers are printed on printers utilizing CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) Inks.  It is virtually impossible to be a PMS match with this color configuration.
  • Background - Transparent Background: If you don’t want the background to be printed, make sure it is transparent. This is crucial for designs on colored garments.  Solid Backgrounds: If the background is part of your design, ensure it’s uniform and intended to be printed.
  • Size and Dimensions - Design your image at the actual size you want it to be printed. Avoid resizing later to prevent loss of quality. Keep important elements at least 0.25 inches (6 mm) away from the edge of the image to prevent them from being cut off.
  • Bleed - Include Bleed: Add a 0.125-inch (3 mm) bleed around your image if the design goes to the edge. This ensures there are no unprinted borders.
  • Text - Convert to Outlines: Convert all text to outlines or curves to prevent font issues during printing. Ensure that the text is large enough to be readable once printed. Avoid using very thin or intricate fonts as they will not peel as easily, or too thin, there will not be enough adhesive on the transfer side for it to stick.
  • Special Effects - Be cautious with gradients, shadows, and other effects. These may not print as expected and can complicate the transfer process.
  • Image Quality - Your image should be clean and crisp, with no blurry or distorted areas.   If it looks blurry on your screen, it will probably look even worse when printed.

By following these simple guidelines, you can ensure that your DTF transfer is printed with the best possible quality.
